HARD-TO-FIND US WW II Short Combat Knife w/Wood Handle & M6 Type Sheath/ID’d/WW2

1 hard-to-find U.S. World War 2 combat knife available. This knife is described by collectors as the ‘short combat knife with M6-type sheath’. This ID’d knife would make an important addition to any military knife collection.
The knife offered here is a fine example of this combat model. The handle and sheath have matching serial numbers ‘349’. The wood handle is stamped on each side with this number. In addition, the soldier marked his name on the pommel ‘JOSEPH HENNESSY’. The blade has the usual mark ‘BCD’ engraved in electric pencil.
This knife has a brass pommel and an iron guard. One side of the blade is flat on these knives. The other side has a raised middle ridge. The short scabbard is made in the same style as the early M3 trench knife’s M6 scabbard. The scabbard is stamped with the soldier’s name again, as well as his unit ‘JOSEPH JOHN HENNESSY F. C. 1/C DIV F’ (Fire Controlman First Class in a ship’s Division F).

This sword is unsigned. There is no arsenal stamp on this sword. The blade measures 26 1/2″ (67.3 cm) (measured properly from the blade tip to the notch in the blade spine).
This Army katana has a fine wavy hamon/temper line. The old saya/scabbard is wooden with black lacquer. The two sides of the wood saya were taped together by the vet. The two sides just need to be glued.

1 vintage pre-WW2 thru WW2 Japanese katana sword available. This katana has a dragon horimono/carving on the blade. This gendai katana would make a fine addition to any collection.
This gendai sword is unsigned. There is no arsenal stamp on this sword. This katana measures 26 1/8″ (66.4 cm) (measured properly from the blade tip to the notch in the blade spine).
This gendai katana has a straight hamon with the design of Mt. Fuji incorporated into the hamon about 8″ back from the blade tip. The old Samurai saya/scabbard is wooden with gold and black lacquer.
The front side of the blade has horimono/carving of a dragon chasing the sacred ball or flaming/magical pearl. The reverse side of the blade has a sanskrit character.

1 exceptional antique World War II Japanese Samurai Army Officer’s sword by the 1 million yen-rated gendai smith, Kaneaki. This fine WW2 Japanese Army Officer’s katana would make an important addition to any collection.
The nakago/tang is signed ‘Kaneaki’. There are no arsenal stamps on this traditionally-made sword. Kaneaki was rated 2nd Seat at the 1941 Sword Exhibition.
All military fittings are of excellent quality. The blade measures 26 1/4″ (66.7 cm) from blade tip to notch in the blade spine. The saya has a fine metal spatter-lacquered finish. This sword has a fine pierced tsuba.
