The inverted/upside down ‘BUCK U.S.A.’ stamp on the ricasso was used from 1967 to 1972. This is the Buck model 120–a common private purchase fighting knife carried in Vietnam.

1 U.S. World War 2 Western L77 Stiletto fighting knife. This desirable U.S. fighting knife would make an important addition to any collection.
The knife’s blade tang is stamped ‘WESTERN BOULDER, COLO. PAT.NO.1,967,479’. This knife measures 11 1/4″ overall. The blade itself measures 6 15/16″ to the guard. The pommel is aluminum, and the guard is brass.
Note the G.I. or Marine that carried this knife stitched a pouch with sharpening stone on the back of the scabbard. The stone has a hollowed oval with ‘NORTON’ marked in raised letters. Check out the photos for a closer look at this cool field adaption.
