1 authentic antique Union Civil War model 1860 Light Cavalry sword available. This U.S. Cavalry sword would make an important addition to any office, den, or business; and would make a fine addition to any collection.
This U.S. Cavalry sword was made by Ames of Massachusetts. The blade ricasso is perfectly stamped with the maker’s name ‘AMES MFG. CO. CHICOPEE MASS.’. The reverse ricasso is stamped ‘U.S. G.W.S. 1864’. This Union sword has a leather-covered wood handle. The leather is wrapped with braided brass wire. The sword blade measures 34 1/2″ long.
The Phrygian style pommel cap is stamped ‘JH’. The scabbard has the braising line running all the way up the side. The scabbard drag is stamped with an inspector’s initials.

This U.S. Cavalry sword was made by Ames of Massachusetts. The blade ricasso is stamped with the maker’s name ‘AMES MFG. CO. CHICOPEE MASS.’. The reverse ricasso is stamped ‘U.S. J.H 1859’. This Union sword has a leather-covered wood handle. The leather is wrapped with braided brass wire. The sword blade measures 35″ long.
The Phrygian style pommel cap is stamped perhaps ‘LOM’. The scabbard has the braising line running all the way up the side.
