$0
Have a Case V-42 to sell? Or a collection of Military Knives? Give us a call at 715-557-1688 to get an offer from St. Croix Blades.
1 vintage U.S. World War 2 Case V-42 stiletto. A First Special Service Force V42 would make a centerpiece knife in any collection.
This Case V-42 is in an Everitt sheath–the shorter keeper strap shows that this sheath was originally made for an Everitt with the ground-off knuckles. This knife has been in this sheath since during the War–this is proven by the aluminum marks on the sheath throat, and by the bend at the sheath throat from the guard.
The blade on this knife measures 7 1/4″–its full original length. This knife has a lot of its original bluing on the blade–around 50%.
This knife was used by the First Special Service Force. Frank Trzaska notes in his article “The Case V-42 Stiletto” which appeared in the April 1998 edition of KnifeWorld, that “The U.S. Special Forces (Green Berets) use the V-42 in their Distinctive Insignia, their Unit Crest and in their shoulder patch.” The Case V-42 is a coveted and classic U.S. fighting knife.
