1 U.S. World War 2 Western L77 Stiletto fighting knife. This desirable U.S. fighting knife would make an important addition to any collection.
The knife’s blade tang is stamped ‘WESTERN BOULDER, COLO. PAT.NO.1,967,479’. This knife measures 11 1/4″ overall. The blade itself measures 6 15/16″ to the guard. The pommel and guard on this knife are made of orange bakelite.
Note the double-stitching Western sheath with the patterned snap on the keeper strap.
Check out the extra leather lacing carried on the sheath–protected the tip of the sheath, while carrying extra boot lace/leg tie-down lacing in the field.

1 Anderson WW2 fighting knife. This Anderson fighting knife would make a rare acquisition for any collection.
Anderson made fighting knives for World War 2 using blades cut from Patton swords. This knife was made with the base section of the Patton sword. The front ricasso is stamped ‘S.A. 1914’ (the ‘S.’ is not visible). The reverse side is stamped with the low serial #: ‘8034’. There was no sheath with this knife when I got it.
The handle is marked ‘ANDERSON GLENDALE, CALIFORNIA’. The reverse side is marked ‘MADE IN USA’.

This M3 trench knife measures 11 1/2” overall. The blade measures 6 3/4”.
The knife handle was return in the European theater with aluminum from aircraft, brass from shell casings, and red micarta from vehicle or downed aircraft electrical panels. There was no sheath with this knife when I got it.
