The blade on this knife is stamped ‘MAR____ MACHINE TOOL BRISBANE‘. This knife measures 14 1/8″ overall. The blade itself measures 9 3/8″.
This knife’s scabbard is from a U.S.M.C. bolo. Marked into the front of the scabbard is ‘TARAWA GILBERT M NOV 21-43‘.

‘DONATED BY CAPT. CHAS. B. EGGEN, S.C. PRESIDENT, DEPARTMENT OF KANSAS R.O.A.’. The reverse side of the blade is etched ‘2ND LT. EMMETT E. WILSON, INF. FIRST PRIZE IN DEPARTMENT MEMBERSHIP CONTEST 1931’.
This sword was made by Ames Mfg. for the Gelhaar Uniform Co. of Kansas City, MO.
This ca.1931 U.S. sword has its original canvas sword bag with it. Inside the top flap it is marked ‘Lt. Emmett Wilson 353rd Infantry’.

1 very rare 1920’s through WW2 Manchukuo (Manchuria) Chinese General’s Sword available. This rare sword would make an important addition to any collection.
The backstrap is decorated with the Manchurian plum blossom. The grip is tortoiseshell, which designates this sword as a Manchukuoan/Manchurian General’s sword.
According to Jim Dawson’s book, Swords of Imperial Japan 1868-1945–Cyclopedia Edition, the Japanese had influence in Manchuria, China, dating back to the Russo-Japanese War. Then later in 1932, the Japanese invaded Manchuria using an incident caused by the Japanese Kwantung Army as an excuse.
