US WW2 Richtig Fighting Knife -8” Fighter/Antique Military/F J R Clarkson Neb
$0
St. Croix Blades BUYS RICHTIG KNIVES. Contact us at 715-557-1688 to sell your Richtig knife.
1 U.S. World War 2 Richtig fighting knife available. This big 8″ Richtig fighting knife would make an important addition to any U.S. military or world militaria collection.
This knife was made by a legend in knife-making. Frank Richtig had a secret steel tempering process that allowed him to slice through railroad spikes and automobile leaf springs. Frank would demonstrate this at county fairs–after slicing a railroad spike or leaf spring, he would slice through a piece of paper with the same knife. Frank earned himself a spot in a ‘Ripley’s Believe It or Not’ magazine in the 1930’s. These knives can be used for decades, because of Frank’s superior craftsmanship.
This big fighter measures 12 7/8″ overall. The blade itself measures 8″. The guard and pommel are brass. The extended lanyard ring was hammered flatter during the War. The pommel is stamped ‘F.J.R. CLARKSON NEB.’. There is no sheath with this knife. I recommend the collector purchase a period World War 2 sheath for an 8″ knife to go with it.
There are 3 notches carved into the guard–sometimes notches like this are meant to record how many enemy kills a soldier had.

This fighting knife would make a fine addition to any World War II, or world militaria collection.
This Wilkinson knife is ID’d/named to the G.I. that carried it. The blade is etched ‘HUGH R BORRIES‘. Some basic research was done to confirm the G.I.’s enlistment in the Army (see photo 10 above).
This knife measures 11 11/16″ overall. The blade itself measures 6 5/8″. The front tang is etched ‘THE F-S FIGHTING KNIFE‘. The reverse tang is stamped ‘WILKINSON SWORD LONDON‘. There are no markings on the guard.

OLD FAMILY BLADE—Russo-Japanese/WW2 Samurai Katana Sword -Antique Kyu-Gunto

OLD FAMILY BLADE—Russo-Japanese/WW2 Samurai Katana Sword -Antique Kyu-Gunto
$0
1 antique traditionally-made Russo-Japanese/World War II Japanese Kyu-gunto Army Samurai sword available. This sword has an old family blade from Samurai times. A kyu-gunto katana would make a rare, and important addition to any collection.
The sword blade was made in the mid-late 1500’s A.D. The blade is signed ‘Bizen kuni ju Osafune Sukesada‘. The nakago is also dated. The blade was carried during ancient times by true Samurai. The blade measures 26 1/2″ (67.3 cm) from blade tip to notch in the blade spine. There are 2 holes in the tang.
The habaki is carved on one side with the images of mice (which are carved more intricately than can be seen in the photos–the hair on each mouse is carved in in fine detail). The reverse side of the habaki has a form of plant carved into it. Interestingly, the maker of the sword’s Army fittings has its name stamped into the guard.
This sword has a longer kissaki than normal–the kissaki measures 1 3/4″.

Normally the fuchi is plain–the dirk in this listing has a cherry blossom in relief. Additionally, note the different patterns on the saya/scabbard throat and saya drag. This WW2 Japanese Naval Officer’s Dirk is very difficult to find.
This dirk measures 13 1/2″ overall. The blade itself measures 8 9/16″ (as measured properly from blade tip to the bottom of the notch in the habaki).
The handle has a wire-wrapped same/rayskin grip. I have not had the handle off–the threads are super tight, and I can’t get them loose without damaging the cherry blossoms.
