1 vintage World War II 2nd pattern Wilkinson Sword Fairbairn-Sykes fighting knife available. F/S commando knives like these were carried by U.S. G.I.’s and paratroopers, and by British Commandos in Europe during World War II. Some U.S. combat troops staging in England would purchase these knives to carry in addition to, or as replacement for their M3 trench knife. This fighting knife would make a fine addition to any World War II, or world militaria collection.
This knife measures 11 1/2″ overall. The blade itself measures 6 1/2″. The front tang is etched ‘THE F-S FIGHTING KNIFE’. The reverse tang is stamped ‘WILKINSON SWORD LONDON’. There are no markings on the guard. The scabbard is stamped ‘ENGLAND’ above the throat.

This rare U.S. WW2 fighting knife is missing from almost every military knife collection–because they are almost impossible to find. This exceedingly rare Ruana fighting knife would make a holy grail addition to any military or Ruana knife collection.
This is the big Ruana fighter. This WW2 Ruana fighter has square cut handle scales–dating this knife to 1938-1943. This knife is also pre-stamp.
The blade on this large WW2 Ruana combat knife measures 7 3/4″ long. This knife measures 12″ overall.
The last two images in this listing are provided for reference only of these knives’ WW2 history. The reference knife is ID’d. The reference knife was made for Captain Southard who was an officer at Fort Missoula where Rudy worked during the internment camps for the Japanese pre WWII. The reference knife was purchased in Kansas City from the Captain’s nephew.

1 rare World War II Japanese Samurai Forestry Dirk available. This Japanese dirk is the most rare of all Japanese dirks. It is one of just 3 or 4 of this Forestry Dagger variation known to exist. This dagger would make an exceptionally rare addition to any collection.
The blade measures 7 3/4″ (28.9 cm). This dagger measures 12 1/2″ overall.
All fittings are of exceptional quality. Note the fine horn mekugi/peg. As mentioned, only 3 or 4 of this pattern dagger with brass and gilt fittings are known to exist–all others have nickel fittings. In fact, the only place this variation appears in reference books is in Fuller & Gregory’s book–and at that, only a drawing of this variation appears in that publication.
This is a rare variation Forestry dagger.

1 vintage banner-etched World War II 2nd pattern Wilkinson Sword Fairbairn-Sykes fighting knife available. This is the very difficult to find black finish variation. This knife is identified to the U.S. officer that carried it. This fighting knife would make a rare addition to any World War II, or world militaria collection.
The front tang is etched ‘THE F-S FIGHTING KNIFE’. The reverse tang is stamped ‘WILKINSON SWORD LONDON’. There are no markings on the guard.
The blade is etched ‘CAPT. G.M. LENTZ’. George Lentz later became a Colonel. Colonel Lentz’s serial # was 0293255 T43 44. His original dog tag is attached to the sheath.
The veteran served in the 50th Field Artillery Battalion, 5th Infantry Division (Red Diamond) from 1944-1945.

This Australian fighting knife was made in Melbourne, Australia during the War. The blade is engraved ‘Evans & Balfour Melbourne’.
This knife measures 9 5/8″ overall. The blade itself measures 5 1/2″. The sheath has the Aussie commando’s initials carved into its front.
The blade on this knife is super thick–it measures over 1/4″. The blade is blued.

This knife has absolutely none of the usual crazing/cracking of the guard and handle that is normally present on 90% of Raider stilettos. This knife is an important part of American history, and would make a rare addition to any collection.
This knife was carried by a member of Carlson’s Raiders. See page 86 of Mike Silvey’s book Knives of the United States Military — World War II for a photo of the Raider stiletto.
This Marine Raider stiletto measures 12 5/16″ overall. The blade itself measures 7 3/16″. The blade etches is still partially visible on the blade ‘U.S.M.C.’, and ‘CAMILLUS CUTLERY CAMILLUS N.Y.’.
