This knife was carried by a member of Carlson’s Raiders. This knife was carried by a Corporal in the Raiders.
This Marine Raider stiletto measures 11 7/8″ overall. The blade itself measures 6 11/16″. See page 86 of Mike Silvey’s book Knives of the United States Military — World War II for a photo of the Raider stiletto.
The back of the scabbard is marked in red with the Raider’s name ‘CORP. ELTON _ . ____E‘. The back of the sheath is also marked ‘USMC‘. The front is marked ‘U S M C‘. The front of the sheath also has a Marine Corps insignia affixed to it. The leg tie-down thongs are still attached.

1 Japanese WWII Army Officer’s gendai katana available. This WW2 katana has two bohi blade grooves. In the hands of a skilled Samurai or swordsman, the bohi grooves produce a terrifying whistle when the sword is wielded. This World War 2 Japanese katana would make an important acquisition for any collection.
This WW2 sword has a leather combat cover–indicating carry by an IJA Army Officer. This gendai is unsigned.
The blade measures 24 3/32″ from the blade tip to the bottom of the notch in the habaki.
This sword has a straight/suguha hamon/temper line.
It’s also super cool that the blade grooves follow through all the way down through the nakago–all the way to the end.

1 antique WW2 Japanese Samurai tanto sword available. This antique Japanese tanto would make a nice acquisition for a collection.
Tanto swords like this were carried in regular Japanese Army soldiers’ packs to bring with them the spirit of the Samurai. Only Japanese Officers and NCO’s were allowed to carry the much larger katanas. These tanto were also carried in case seppuku was needed.
This tanto is engraved with sanscrit bonji. This tanto was fashioned after Sanyo Munechika’s famous kogarasu-maru double-edged sword.
The blade measures 7 3/16” (18.2 cm) from blade tip to notch in the blade spine. This tanto measures 12 1/2” overall (31.5 cm) when in its saya/scabbard. This tanto has the desirable and hard-to-find kogarasumaru blade shape.
