RARE Antique Frank Richtig Skinning Knife -F.J.R. Clarkson Neb -Old/Vtg/Nebr

RARE Antique Frank Richtig Skinning Knife -F.J.R. Clarkson Neb -Old/Vtg/Nebr
$0
1 desirable vintage Frank J. Richtig aluminum-handled skinning knife available. This hard-to-find Frank Richtig knife would make an important addition to any collection, and would also make a fine using knife–a knife that few others in the country still use, because they have been snatched up by collectors.
This knife was made by a legend in knife-making. Frank Richtig had a secret steel tempering process that allowed him to slice through railroad spikes and automobile leaf springs. Frank would demonstrate this at county fairs–after slicing a railroad spike or leaf spring, he would slice through a piece of paper with the same knife. Frank earned himself a spot in a ‘Ripley’s Believe It or Not’ magazine in the 1930’s. These knives can be used for decades, because of Frank’s superior craftsmanship.
This knife has a blade that measures 5 3/4″. The handle on this knife has the ‘F.J.R. CLARKSON NEB.‘ stamp. (Other stamps seen on knives made by Frank Richtig include the ‘HAND MADE BY F. J. RICHTIG CLARKSON, NEBR.’ stamp, and the blacksmith image stamp’). This knife measures 10 5/8″ overall.

Rare Vtg US WW2 Barteaux Commando Fighting Knife -Antique Military Collection

Rare Vtg US WW2 Barteaux Commando Fighting Knife -Antique Military Collection
$0
1 rare U.S. World War II aluminum handle Barteaux Commando fighting knife. Interestingly, the ‘COMMANDO’ and ‘USA’ handle markings on this knife are legible, but not clear. It doesn’t appear to just be from wear–it’s almost like Barteaux decided to remove the markings from his handle die, and only mostly removed the markings from it.
This knife measures 11 5/8″ overall. The knife blade itself measures 7″–which is long for a Barteaux. The scabbard is has the Murphy Combat/Barteaux Commando starburst snap on its keeper strap.
