Antique Japanese Samurai FULL POLE Yari -Old Sword Collection/SIGNED/Spear

The yari itself is signed. It has a 4-character mei. The yari measures 15 1/16″ including the nakago. The yari measures 6 5/16″ long and 7/8″ wide.
When mounted on the pole, this yari measures 7 ft. 1/8 in. It’s very difficult to find a full pole–U.S. soldiers, sailors, & airmen in the U.S. Occupied Forces typically pulled the yari off the pole–or sawed off the top portion of the pole so it would fit in their duffle bag. The bottom half of the pole was discarded. This pole was cut in half to get it in a duffle bag–but what is unusual with this one is that the soldier kept the bottom half of the pole as well. Later a museum put the two halves of the pole back together with a dowel. The joint is hardly noticeable.
