This tanto is unsigned. It has a genuine Japanese blade.
Cloisonne koshirae/mounts are very rare. The mounts on this cloisonne tanto are all intricately-carved brass.
The blade measures 9″ (22.9 cm) from blade tip to the bottom of the notch in the habaki.

This fine antique Japanese Meiji Period cloisonne tanto sword is in rare condition. Antique cloisonne-mount Japanese swords generally have damage of some kind–often significant damage. This cloisonne tanto is in exceptional condition. There is one spot on the saya/scabbard about the size of a U.S. dime that is chipped. This spot blends in nicely though. Otherwise there is just one chip about the size of a grain of rice. All other cloisonne is in exceptional condition. All sword fittings are in perfect condition.
