CONDITION:

This rare model 1873 Imperial Diplomatic Sword is in rare condition.  The gold gilt is completely intact on 99% of this sword.  The fittings are in perfect condition.  The wire wrap has a few broken strands–but it looks fabulous even without them.  The black spot on the guard on the back side is a piece of black fabric that is adhered to the surface–this is perhaps from leaning up against something for many years.

The nickel-plating on the blade is 93-94%–a few areas on the blade have oxidation.  The blade is perfectly straight.  The black lacquered finish on the saya/scabbard is 100%–perfect.  The scabbard fittings are perfect
