1 antique Japanese Samurai o-kissaki katana sword in shira-saya. Dealers have felt that this sword is either Shinshinto or gendai. This sword is unsigned. This very fine Japanese Samurai sword would make an important addition to any collection.
This fine sword has a complex hamon/temper line with lots of activity. The photos speak for themselves.
The blade measures 28 1/4″ (71.8 cm) from blade tip to the bottom of the notch in the habaki. The kissaki measures 4 1/8″ (10.5 cm). This o-kissaki katana is mounted in shira-saya.
CONDITION:
This fine sword has no nicks. The blade is in original, almost perfect polish. There are 4-5 little dots of light staining on the blade (almost all of what is seen on the blade in the photos is lint)–these are the type that will likely (I feel definitely) clean off. The wood shirasaya has an occasional minor dent from handling over the years.
There are no openings in the blade whatsoever. The hamon/temper line and boshi are perfectly healthy. This sword is guaranteed against fatal flaws.
This rare, long o-kissaki katana sword, with desirable complex hamon, would make an important addition to any collection.
